Microsoft is
trying to retain back its position among the best competitors in the email
market by launching a new email service.
The product Outlook.com is an
upgrade of outlook email that was previously available on PC and exchange
servers in offices only.
The new
email has a clean user interface that integrates Microsoft Office Applications,
OneNote and Social Media page updates allowing users to work from their emails
without necessarily moving from it. For example users can edit word documents,
power point presentations and excel from their emails as opposed to downloading
to make changes.
“Outlook.com preview is
connected to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google and Skype. You can view
pictures of your friends, messages, status updates, chats calls all powered by
an always up to date contact list that is similarly connected to those
networks,” said Microsoft in a press statement
to new rooms.
At the
moment Microsoft has made a sample of the email available as a preview. Holders
of MSN and Hotmail accounts have been given the option of upgrading to the new
version in what IT experts say, could be marking a complete change over to Outlook.com in what they undertake to be the firm’s
ultimate goal.
