Khartoum - MTN one of the biggest
telecommunication corporations in Africa and the Middle East will invest in
modern infrastructure to meet the challenges of ICT (Information Communication
Technology), especially the increasing demand from the social media, a press
conference was informed yesterday by MTN International Group Deputy President
and Head of the Group Operations, Ahmed Faroug.
The press conference came at the end of his visit to Sudan to discuss the MTN
Sudan administration the strategies and plans of the company during the coming
period until the end of 2015.
Faroug stressed on that the Company
will invest in the communication infrastructure that will enable it to provide
the best services to its customers taking into serious consideration the
increasing demand of the social media and that the Mobile service at present is
not only a call or an SMS message.
In this upgrading and promotion, the
Company will depend basically on its Sudanese
workforce, both males and females with their excellent expertise and
whose capacity will be further increased by more training. He pointed out that MTN has its own Training
Academy and that Sudan is a very competitive market and this means to exert
every possible effort to provide the best possible services.
The MTN official in
answer to a question about if the present economic situation in Sudan
represents a problem for the company operation, he answered by saying that yes, there are problems and
challenges but this is not only in Sudan but everywhere you face challenges and
we do our best to overcome them.
Corporate social responsibility was
not absent from the discussion and in which MTN affirmed that it is strongly
committed to its obligations in this arena and is doing its best to have an
impact on the society.
