The Open
University of Tanzania (OUT) has entered an agreement with the
Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) to create a system that
will help the college authorities to store student’s records in the databases
using ICT technologies.
The project
is aiming at helping managing student’s records and increasing efficiency in
records management according to Mr. Razaro
Busagula, the manager of the project. The programme would help
the university in maintaining these records.
He said
the new system will also allow students to directly access information on their
academic progress and timetables for studies. Mr. Busagula said SUA decided to
team up with OUT in the project because the latter has excelled in the use of
ICT in its activities including teaching and records management.
He also said
the programme would enable students to conduct their studies quickly and attempt
examinations even before the end of the semester if they wish to do so.
