The
government is planning to execute their plan of improving the cities physical
addresses by creating proper and rigid addresses in popular towns and cities to
facilitate navigation and efficiency of providing services. The President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon
Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete speaking
on the matter yesterday, he was happy to announce the commencement of the
project and encourage the local government authorities to handle the project
effectively working with the Tanzania
Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA).
The project
will help to reduce the communication and transportation problems in the local
streets and enhance the structuring and planning of the cities. In other hand
the project comes in the right time when most of the tech enthusiasts in Dar es
Salaam are working hard to map the city in the Google map so that the places
can be reached easily. Dar es Salaam is
receiving challenges from other cities in East Africa such as Nairobi and
Kigali which is growing fast in terms of city plans and technological
advancement.
Stakeholders
in Dar have been very happy after hearing about the project and most of them
believe the project will help even the places which are very hard to be
accessed and have the services to be reached. The project was proposed in 2003
and has been into practice since 2011 in Arusha Northeastern Tanzania.
