MTN Injects over 1 million Ghanian Cedi in social interventions…..

             Scancom Limited, operators of MTN, a leading telecommunications company in the country, has invested a total of 1,185,853.21 Ghanaian cedi in social interventions towards the development of the region.
The region, however, has a total of 21, 943,293 revenue generating subscribers, with 63 percent market penetration. Making the disclosure here in Koforidua last Friday during an encounter with a cross-section of media practitioners in the region, the Head of Corporate Affairs of MTN-Ghana, Mrs. Cynthia Lumor, said her outfit was committed towards its social corporate responsibilities.
According to her, the region had immensely benefited from MTN-Ghana projects, including Information Communication (ICT) centres, educational and health infrastructure among others.
The projects are the construction of boys' dormitory for the Akropong School for the Blind, six and three unit classroom blocks for the Kodjonya and Asempaneye community respectively.
The rest are the construction of an accident centre at the Atua Government Hospital in the Lower Manya Krobo District, presentation of an incubator to the Kwahu Government Hospital, and construction of ICT centre at Kpong.
Improving the quality of service in the region, the Head of Corporate Affairs hinted that MTN had 380 cell sites in the region, with 3G coverage in the Koforidua and Newmont areas.
She gave the assurance of her outfit's commitment to give its clients value for their money, and further urged them (subscribers) to have faith in the network.
