Five African
tech startups have emerge has the winners in the Demo Africa event. The winners
of the competition being Africa’s most promising startups from different
African countries including mPawa, Flowgear,
Qabila, Sasa Africa and Maliyo games.
Maliyo games
is Nigeria gaming startup company which allows users to subscribe and play
games online through their PCs and handheld devices including smart phones and
tablets. The startup is seeking $300,000 in
funding to help improve the status of their company and encourage efficiency. The
startup is based in Lagos Nigeria and the founders believe Africa needs locally
relevant multimedia content.

Qabila, the startup based in Cairo, Egypt
which provides and cover more details about Egypt more than the local media including
the national television while Sasa Africa is an ecommerce platform connecting
offline craftsperson to online consumers.

and Shadrack Boadu. And Flowgear is a tech startup based in South Africa. The startup is Co-founded by Daniel Chilcott and JJ
Milner, the startup is looking to exploit a $2.79 billion opportunity (Gartner,
2011) in the Cloud integration sector.
