Handing over the goods, Airtel head of corporate communication and government relations Dr Chabuka Kawesha said the donation is in line with the company’s corperate social responsibility.
He said this when he handed over three computers to Zambia Association of Chambers of Commerce,Trade and Industry, Zambia Association for Persons with Disabilities, Zambia Girl Guide and House of Moses Orphanage in Lusaka yesterday.
“Information and communication technology (ICT), especially internet in the education sector plays an important role particularly in the process of empowering the technology into the education activities”, Dr Kawesha said.
He said Airtel has partnered with the Ministry of Education in uplifting the education standards especially in deprived areas under the company’s ‘Our School Project’.
Speaking at the same function Zambia Association for Persons with Disabilities director Dr Felix Silwimba commended Airtel for the wonderful gesture and for supporting the differently abled people in Zambia.
