Is the time we learn to give back to our communities?

Why it always have to be foreigners who are doing community services to the African communities? It is the question I have been asking myself for so long time. It seems like African professionals we are to selfish and just care about ourselves and forgetting were we come from. Oh am sorry to say this I didn't mean that at all, I know there are lot of Africans out there who are impacting their communities with the knowledge they have and even some of them investing a lot of resources to fund some projects in Africa. Big up for the guys from Savannah fund Africa Mbwana Alliy and Paul Bragiel. Oh I forgot Paul is another guy passionate about helping Africa who is not from here, I think it is the time we learn from these guys and form so many Mbwanas in our communities.

Seriously we can’t be waiting for more Jukkas (Jukka Siltanen) to come and run our Labs and Innovation centers. It is the time we give the helping hand to these guys and appreciate what they are doing. I just pray for them that they continue with their good services to the local Tanzania ICT community. Not everyone in our communities got the chance to go abroad and attain skills, awareness and knowledge that we have, so it is our responsibility to give support to our communities with the resources we have.

Most of the guys I met in the hubs are students with passion in technology. Most of them lack resources and guidance. The local education system seems to cripple them. It is the harsh reality we all have to accept. They need more chances to be exposed to the new trends in technologies and complete support to work on their projects without forgetting they always need entrepreneurship skills, thanks to COSTECH incubation programmes.

We need more labs and more innovation centers from the local people. If they can’t provide that, at least they should give few hours in a week to help facilitating ICT sectors in our communities. It isn’t about money what drive people into success on what they are doing is about the love and commitment that they have on it what keep them moving day in day out to achieve great things in their life.

The Google embasadors, the Dar Gtug Group, Tony and David much respect guys and other associations involved in enhancing ICT sectors in Tanzania and East and Central Africa in general, we are so delighted to have you and personally am always there whenever am supposed to give the helping hand.
