Vodacom to fund mobile apps developers throughout Africa




Vodacom Tanzania is planning to boost Tanzanians app developers in the mission to enhance the ICT sector in Tanzania. Recently Vodacom have initiated the program “AppStar Challenge”. The initiative is aiming at nurturing the potential mobile apps developers in the country and throughout the African continent. Has announced by the Vodacom Chief of Brands and Communication Mr. Kelvin Twisa, the event is aiming at getting independent application developers who will be prepared to compete in the world wide event which will be held in South Africa later this year.

Hint: Developers will have to register for the competition by 7th September and that they will have until 21st September to develop and publish their products which in this case would be the complete full functioning apps. 

 “Winners of the contest would be awarded and guaranteed position in the international contest where the top five winners from the all participating countries will be sponsored to an elaborate award event in South Africa later in November” said Mr. Twisa
There is going to be three categories, social health, entertainment and games development. In each of these three categories winners would have a chance to win 2000USD.
