Education Bond to Support ICT May Be close to be launched in Kenya….

The Kenyan education minister Mutula Kilonzo is mulling an education bond to help finance integration of ICT use in learning institutions to build adequate human capital for the industry. Speaking in Naivasha during a workshop on mainstreaming of ICT integration in education, Mutula said  that one of the two education policy documents approved by the cabinet last week called for ICT training from early stages of education to improve future manpower.
"We raise bonds for infrastructure and I am also thinking that we can also have in place education bonds for building our human capital. If we are able to come up with a manageable education bond, we can finance some of these plans in the proposed education policy," noted Mutula. Technology firms Microsoft and Intel have joined efforts by the education ministry to work on the project.
