Nigeria:Industry leaders urged to solve broadband challenge...

The current broadband internet challenges being experienced in the country has caught the attention of organizers of Africa Digital Forum & Awards [ADA 2012], as they have urged industry leaders to offer lasting solutions to the lingering challenge.
With the theme Broadband Nigeria: the Journey Ahead, ADA 2012 focuses on the broadband challenge by mandating several leading industry players who are billed to speak at the event to come up with practical solutions to the challenge.
Among speakers expected at the event are GMD/CEO, Computer Warehouse Group (CWG), Mr. Austin Okere, Director General National Office for Technology Acquisition & Promotion (NOTAP), Engr. Umar Bindr, Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Dr. Juwa Eugene, former Minister of Communication, Engineer Olawale Ige, and Managing Director/CEO, MainOne, Ms. Funke Opeke among others.
Special guest of honour at ADA 2012, according to the coordinator Mr. Tayo Adewusi, would be the Minister of Communication & Technology, Mrs. Omobola Johnson while Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola would be the host.
ADA 2012 will hold on November 23, 2012 at Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja. Adewusi informed that ADA 2012’s organizing team decided on this year’s theme as a result of the low internet density in the country, which has affected economic activities in corporate offices and homes.
ADA 2012 coincided with the tenth year anniversary of the birth of ICT Watch Network on television, which started transmission on Minaj Broadcast International in 2001 and later syndicated on Murhi International Television (MITV).
The programme has metamorphosed into Focus TV, cable television content with a strong bias for ICT, business and entertainment reporting since October 2007 on DISC communication platform.
As a core component of ADA, Africa Digital Forum is central to the awards as it is where industry issues are discussed. This year’s awards would honour distinguished Nigerians and Africans with heavy leaning on ICT
