Most of the
Fujifilm camera users have experienced this error and some of them have even
stopped using their camera due irritation caused by the error message “CARD NOT INITIALIZED”. The problem has been solved now. Most of the time
the problem is caused by external devices which are inserted in the camera;
If the error message "CARD NOT INITIALIZED" is displayed on the digital camera, the
electrical contact of the recording medium may be dirty, or fragmentation of
the files may have occurred in the recording medium after data is repeatedly
written and erased. In addition, if a memory card is used immediately after
purchase, it may not be recognized since the format of the recording medium
varies depending on the manufacturer and model. How to troubleshoot
[Technic 1]
[Technic 1]
Recording medium that has been used repeatedly
1. Clean the recording medium (xD-Picture Card, SmartMedia or SD memory card) by wiping the electrical contact (metal part) with a soft cloth and then insert the medium again.
2. Format (initialize) the medium on the camera to eliminate fragmentation and then insert the medium again.
If you format (initialize) a medium, all the data in the recording medium will be erased. Please note that erased data cannot be restored.
