Football fans and mobile phone subscribers in Tanzania have greatly experienced technological developments during the ongoing Vodacom Premier League.

Rene Meza, Vodacom Tanzania managing director, says that the company has adopted latest technology to disseminate information to football fans and customers during the Vodacom Premier League.
“Despite relaying the various matches on television and radio, we have also made arrangements to inform fans through other channels such as Facebook and Twitter and other social media outlets. This is a sure way to ensure that individuals receive updates from wherever they are without necessarily watching the matches,” says Meza.
In order to get these live updates, one is required to dial *149*1# and then select Vodacom flava on their phone .Meza says that individuals using Facebook or Twitter will enjoy these services for free. “All they need to do is to log on to our Facebook or Twitter pages and get all the updates. They will also stand a chance to win prizes by answering questions posted on the pages,” he says.
Meza is grateful to the media for the instrumental role they have played in disseminating information to Tanzanians concerning the Premier League.
“The media have done a good job and I must thank them for that. We shall continue supporting them in any way we can in order to make the league a success,” says Meza
